Owning high class jewelry like Tiffany rings is something to be cherished, but there is a similarity to top end jewelry and normal standard jewelry. It’s that they both get dirty and are prone to scratches.
If you have a Tiffany wedding ring chances are you wear this every day and as a result it will be prone to wear a tear; with this in mind it is important to keep your precious jewelry clean.
Due to the unique setting of Tiffany diamond rings they are most at risk of collecting dust and dirt in the space that raises the diamond. You can take it to a professional cleaner to remove the debris however doing this on a regular basis can be costly. You can also purchase a steam cleaner or a ultrasonic cleaner to do the job but again these times cost a lot of money and probably not needed unless you wear a lot of jewelry on a regular basis and have a lot to clean.
Here is an easy use and affordable home method to keep your Tiffany rings clean.
If you apply a drop or two of dishwasher liquid in some tepid water, not too hot, into a small container (make sure it has a lid on it) the dishwasher liquid should loosen any dirt on the ring. Place your ring into the small container and secure the lid and give it a gentle shake. Let it stand for a couple of minutes then gently shake it again, then remove the ring and rinse it with warm water. Towel dry the ring, be sure not to rub it but touch dry it instead. Once the ring is dry place it back on your finger. Try to avoid touching the diamond with your hands as the oils in your skin can affect the shine of the diamond.
If your ring has not been cleaned for a while another method to get rid of any hard to remove dirt especially in the hard to reach places is to clean it with a soft bristled tooth brush. Put the ring into a bowl full of warm water and apply some jewelry cleaner (glass cleaner works just as well if you don’t have any). Brush carefully under the water until clean. For best results dry the ring with a soft microfiber cloth or a flannel, this will prevent scratches during the drying process.
Following either of these methods should maintain the look of your Tiffany ring however it is probably a good idea to send it to be professionally cleaned at least once a year.
